As the temperature is rising and the days are getting longer, some Spring flowers decided it was time to wake up and make their presence known in different corners of the garden.

Besides being busy preparing the garden for the next planting season, we are delighted to use our new amazing kitchen! We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the planners and builders who generously dedicated their time to create this homey space for us.

Having a sparkling new and fully functioning kitchen opens room for creativity. While some veterans volunteer to pr...

It has been a while since our last blog post! A lot happened at the garden over the past weeks. Michael and officer cadet(!) Zisky handed the garden over to Carol and Christian. Many thanks to our veterans and volunteers for making us feel welcome and for your patience while we’re getting our feet under the desk!

A nice addition to the garden, the quiet area, experienced great progress and will soon be able to welcome anybody who wants to relax and regenerate in the midst of diverse and calming plant arrangements. A work group from Castle Huntly with cr...

Howdy all,

We’ve had an exciting few weeks recently. Firstly, we have a new staff member. A HUGE welcome to Christian! Christian is already the favourite staff member because he is Swiss and brings back Swiss chocolate for us. No one can compete with that. Secondly, he’s a counselling psychologist and just an all-round brilliant guy really. We’re lucky to have him and look forward to working with him :D

Secondly, Horatio has been recovered. This has obviously been fantastic news for me personally, but also for the many, many supporters that Horatio has ent...

Hello Everybody!

It’s been a while since I’ve written a blog and I would try and come up with a good excuse for that, but I won’t because the only reason is that it’s been too sunny to sit inside unless ABSOLUTELY necessary.

But for now, I’m being a good horticultural therapist and sitting in the office looking out at a beautiful blue sky and itching to go and poke about in a flowerbed, so I’ll make this quick.

Everything has been going brilliantly here – we have veg coming out of our ears (feel free to come and grab some) and a bunch of newbies who have re...

Hi all I’d like to introduce myself: I’m Izzie, I’ve been at the garden for almost a year now as IT, Technical support and office assistant and have been slowly trying to take on more responsibilities to take some pressure off our staff members. Zisky’s on holiday this week so I’m standing in for the blog post as I've noticed it's been a while since the last one.

We’re having a very productive day in the garden today; not quite as sunny as it has been, so not as much sitting outside drinking tea in the sun as has become quite a tradition with this newfoun...

Happy Wednesday everyone. It’s blimmin’ parky up here innit? This time three weeks ago we were sitting in t-shirts in the polytunnel and now we’re all sporting snazzy hats and quilted jackets thanks to our anonymous friend from the military. Whether they will be enough to keep us functioning in the dark depths of a Scottish winter remains to be seen…

It’s been a really busy few weeks here at the garden – hence the lateness of this blog, sorry – my bad. We have a number of new veterans coming to join our tribe and some new volunteers too. Welcome to Kev, K...

Good afternoon Aaall,

It’s Friday and everyone here at DTG is pottering around in the garden happily. The rabbits are rabbitting, the birds are birding and I’m sitting on the heater watching a flurry of deadheading and weeding.

We’ve had an interesting couple of weeks which I’ll tell you all about but first, I’d like to give a MASSIVE welcome to our new volunteer Adam, who is now modelling our snazzy “one size fits none” fleece (as Michael says). We’re lucky to have you Adam and thanks for all the deadheading!

Also, happy belated birthday to Meggan, for who...

Afternoon All,

Because I’m English, I’ll start with the weather. If you’re in Dundee, I imagine you’re hiding inside in a feeble attempt to escape the creeping cold and the drizzly wet mist outside. That’s what Michael and I are doing anyway, although I’d like it known that I bravely went outside for a bit to deadhead and weed and I’m still not quite dry.

It’s been a pretty good couple of weeks here recently and a lot has been happening. Sessions are progressing as normal with lots of banter, obnoxious comments about my red trousers and a bit of gardening...

Yoohoo!

It’s a miserable morning outside with mist clinging to our office window and damp that seems to be seeping into my bones, but our garden is still lovely and cheerful. I can just make out the flowers through the grey.

Firstly wanted to say thank you to Danny and John at Homebase for surprising us with a lovely new storage whatsit for our garden. We're so lucky to have your support!

Yesterday we had a great session with the exception of missing a couple of our guys who were off. We are really excited to welcome a new veteran into our fold, who seemed...
